This is my " Roll Tuck and Pin" as they call it in the natural hair world. It took less than 10 minutes to do.
I found out that it is easier to work with stretched hair for this style. I am using more bobby pins than I think I should be using. Once I get comfortable and better, I should be using fewer.
In comparison to Flat Twists, there is less manipulation with Tuck Roll and Pin than Flat Twists. You must have completely detangled hair to flat-twist, whereas with RTP, it only has to be stretched a little bit. You are also not combing through your hair with your fingers when rolling and tucking. However, with flat twists, there is a lot of manipulation.
They are still both my go-to styles as far as protective styles are concerned. But you will see me wear more RTP than flat twists due to the manipulation level.
