Protective style Files|Short Kinky Twists

I had my hair out for two months to get re-aquinted with it. However, as you may know already, fine hair needs to be protected as much as possible to avoid damage to those fragile ends. I decided it was time to put my hair in some form of protective style but I also wanted it to look natural, so I made the ends very thin to have the same tapered effect as the natural hair.

I already have a tutorial for this kind of style but the twists in that video were much more bigger, sort of Havana-like.
The hair I used is the Janet Collection Afro Marley Braid in no 4.
The company claims it has a human hair feel which is true because people actually think this is my hair. It looks very natural.

I also used Curls Passion fruit Control Paste to blend my natural hair with the extensions
This stuff is amazing!!!! I never used it to do Marley braids in the past and I am glad I decided to use it.

I braided the roots first because this is what I preferred this time around. Each section of the hair twisted was spritzed with Aloe Vera juice and sealed with Nubian Heritage anti breakage mask and castor oil.

The process took me 10 hrs with lots of breaks due to family life. I used yarn to "corkscrew" the ends and dipped them in hot water for a curly look.

I love them because they are easy to manage. The length is perfect because the extensions will not weigh my hair down and it is easy to moisturize my hair at this length.

As always, I am keeping these for at least a month. I will not wash them the traditional way( water and cleansing product). Instead, I will be using diluted Apple Cider vinegar to clean my scalp a few times a week due to sweating from exercises. I will also be moisturizing with Aloe Vera juice and seal with coconut oil. Every other week, I will slather the anti- breakage mask on the twists and steam them so the conditioner could penetrate my natural hair. The mask can be used as a leave-in as per the company.
