Finally reached this milestone.........

                 A ponytail!!!!!!

I have a video on how I stretch my hair. I always have a video that is never ready on time..LOL. But expect one soon. And before I lose all that length, my hair will be back in full protective styles in a few days.

Thanks for reading this post. I hope you enjoyed it. If you have any questions, please contact me at coilybella@coilybella.com.

  7. Congrats Coilybella! Good to know that your hard work is paying off. You're the closest I can find to my hair which is also of a fine texture. Please advise on best products to use for fine hair - daily moisturizer, shampoo, conditioning etc. What would you say is the best protective style for fine hair?

Looking forward to hearing from you.

    1. Thank you so much.
I will advice you to try out products and see what works for you. But I love Shea Moisture Yucca Line mixed with their Dry/Damaged line. I do a lot of Ayurvedic treatments such as Henna, Bentonite clay.... I actually use Bentonite clay to clarify my hair every month. Fine hair, like any other type of natural hair, needs moisture consistently. Just spraying your hair with a mix of water and olive oil will do the job.

When it comes to protective styling, you have to be careful with fine hair as it breaks easily.
Medium Twists Updo is great for fine hair. No Mini twists..those will put a lot of stress on your fine hair.
If you can, add extensions (do it yourself) and wear braids or kinky twists for a month at a time.Redo your edges every two weeks (a must). When you take them out, let your hair rest for two to four weeks before you put the extensions back. If your hair is long enough, bun it.

    2. Great advice and much appreciated. Thank you, Coilybella for getting back to me in such a short time. Re: moisturizing with water and olive oil, I hope virgin olive oil is fine. I'm assuming that might be better in quality than ordinary olive oil?

    3. No problem sis.
      Definitely Extra Virgin Olive Oil

  8. I have been following you pretty closely for the past few months but this is my first time commenting. I think your hair type and the problems you have faced with getting it to grow is almost identical to my life with my hair. It is fine, relatively thin and sensitive. I am so glad that what you are doing is working for you. I am going to try to use a lot of your tips to get my hair growing. Thank you for sharing your journey.

    1. Aww. Thank you kindly. I wish you the best in your hair journey.
.Fine hair is so delicate that it has to be pampered with a lot of TLC

  9. congrats! I remember how I felt when i finally achieved a pony tail, with straightened hair of course. Took me 2yrs to get there but I got there. I remember I could never put my hair in a pony tail through out the 7years it was relaxed. so that was a major milestone for me. Btw, I really LOVE, the cinnabun style(third pic), your hair doesn't look thin at all. Your baby's hair looks cute too.

Trust me..my hair is fine. But it has gradually gotten thicker over the years with Ayurvedic treatments.
