Sunday Hair/ Flat Twist Out

Last Sunday, I was going for a Flat-twist out look, but the humidity was working against my goal.

I set my hair in about 25 flat twists as shown below, using Loreal Evercreme Nourishing Conditioner(creamy conditioner w/ a pH of 4.5) and Loreal Everstyle gel mixed with aloe vera gel. I mixed both gels together to get a 4.5 pH and I was also trying to be economical with my Loreal gel:). I am very big on pH as it really does affect the way my hair behaves. The more acidic the product is, the more elongated my curls are, reducing tangles and SSKs. However, products that are more acidic than 4.0 should not be used. Our hair pH is within the range of 4.5 and 5.5, products within this range work best for our hair.

I still managed to get some definition in the front, however, the back took forever to get dry and hence the lack of definition and shrinkage  in the back.

no definition and lots of shrinkage in the back due to humidity

I am trying to get used to having a part in my loose hair, as shown above. However, I did not feel quite comfortable with it so I got rid of the part and rolled back the front section, which was secured with a pin.

  4. I like your hair pinned in the front better than with the part. I've only done one twist out and I had mixed results. The front looks great.
