Hot Oil Treatments with Extra Virgin Olive Oil

Don't sleep on them.......

My ends tend  to get dry quickly especially because my hair is fine. I have always known that my fine hair loves oil on its ends and since I had never attempted an oil treatment,  I decided to do one on my 5 week old braids. The result? My  hair came out reaaaaaally smooth, soft and very shiny. My braids also did not look as old anymore.
5 week old braids

How to: (This was done on dry hair)
I used two tablespoons of Extra Virgin Olive oil which was warmed in the microwave for a few seconds
I placed the oil on an old hair product container lid, which allowed me to easily dip my ends in the oil. Then I dipped my fingers in the remaining oil and applied on the rest of my hair. I put on a plastic cap and let it sit in my hair overnight. The next day, I rinsed it off with cool water and left my hair as pictured. I did not need to apply extra product to enhance the curls at the end of my braids.

The one thing I loved about this treatment was gaining smooth soft elongated curly ends. I will be doing a hot oil treatment once a week as I realized that my hair loves it.

Ladies if you wear your hair out most of the time, then this is highly recommended for you.

  3. This reminds me that I haven't done a hot oil treatment in forever. I usually do mine on wet hair, after washing. Any reason why you did yours dry? (Maybe I need to reconsider my method.)

  4. Never done hot oil treatment before. I wish my natural hair could last for 5 weeks.

  5.  I love jojoba oil too, it's just a bit too  expensive for me.

  7. You should try it sis and there was a time that I thought I could not wear any style for more than 2 weeks. I think the longer your hair gets, the longer you can keep a style in.
