Hair of the week:Partial Updo: "Back Up, Turn Right"

I am wearing flat twists again this week.

I always style my hair on freshly washed and deep conditioned hair.  This week, I used Ayurvedic herbs ( Amla and Hibiscus powders) mixed  with Aloe Vera juice and Olive Oil to  DC my hair. My hair felt soft and looked fuller afterwards. I am not sure if this is a temporary effect till the hair gets washed again.. My hair dried in in about 15 flat twists after I applied my leave in conditioner.

I try to style my hair in such a way that will allow for a pin up of a big section. The back was styled that way so the ends would be easily tucked in.

Since I have been wearing my hair with the ends tucked in lately, I opted for a partial updo this week as I just wanted to see part of my hair out. That's why I have single two strand twists hanging on the right side

It gets boring after a while seeeing the same  fully "tucked ends" styles. I will like to keep this style for at least 10 days but if my scalp gets itchy, I will definitely take it down by the end of the week.

  1. Yesss. You are giving me more ideas and inspiration for when I flat twist my hair this weekend (maybe next week, though).

Also, interesting observation about your hair seeming thicker after your ayurvedic treatment. Thanks!
