Stretching Natural Hair:Threading Method

stretched hair using the threading method

My fine natural hair is hard to style without stretching it. It tends to tangle very easily if styled wet or damp. I have used several methods to stretch my hair and the threading method is by far my favorite. I like this method because, there is very little  hair manipulation involved. The thread I use is the same used for sewing in weaves. The thread is very smooth and does not snag my hair in any type of way. I cannot use the goody bands that most people recommend because the act of doubling and tripling the bands on my hair actually put a lot of stress on my fine hair. The thread is easy to use. I just grab the section of hair and start to thread my hair from the root, in a spiral downward motion until I get to the end.I will probably do a video tutorial for those interested

My hair had just been washed and deeply conditioned. I have a leave in conditioner in my hair in this picture. Stretching yields better results when done on damp hair.
As you can see in the picture below, my hair is stretched without having to use any type of heat.
My hair is stretched and ready for styling. Pls excuse my face
