Finally!!!!! My hair is no longer dry

I have been patiently sticking to a moisturizing regimen for the past one month and I am BOLDLY declaring that my hair has been "delivered" from dryness.

I am extremely happy and I can't contain myself. My hair has become so soft and does not break anymore whenever, I touch it.

Before my new regimen: As some of you may know, if you have been following for a while, my hair is color treated. I experienced the most dryness this past summer and as a result, my hair was extremely breaking off. I tried all the moisturizers that worked pretty good for my hair during the winter, and nothing seemed to be working. Even QB Amla and Olive Cream did not work anymore. I even tried the Kimmaytube Leave in and my hair was still breaking.

So before I came up with my holy grail concoction, I trimmed my split ends to start on a clean slate.  I decided to start using a water based spritz to moisturize my hair and that was the best decision that I made for my hair.

Here is my recipe for my super effective moisturizing spritz

  • A cup of Distilled water
  • 2tbs of Knot today leave in
  • 2tbs of Aloe Vera Juice
  • 2tbs of Coconut Oil
  • 2tbs of Castor Oil
  • 2 tsp of ACV
  • 5 drops each of peppermint and Rosemary Oil
  • 1 tbs of Vit E Oil
The mixture tests at 4 (pH). This pH level helps my hair to be smooth

How I use it: I put all in a spray bottle and shake vigorously to mix well. Even though it has water in it, I still dampen my hair with water and then spray this mix all over my hair. I use this in my hair every other day. I found out that I don't even have to do this daily. I really believe that the ACV does the job for me. I tried the knot today with Aloe V. Juice, Coconut Oil and Castor oil but was still not getting the result I desired.

The mixture made from the ingredients listed above usually lasts for about two weeks . I refigerate it. The peppermint, Rosemary and Vit E oil have preserving qualities, thus helping with the preservation of the mixture

  1. Sounds great Tinuke. So glad that you found something that is working for your hair. And the best part its something that you made yourself. Not made buy someone else. And the ingredients are the greatest.. Go, Tinuke!!:))

Thanks for sharing this w/ us. Take care.

  2. wow your hair was breaking even with the Kimmaytube leave in??Wow

I am glad that your hair is back on track!

  3. @Zainab Thanks Zainab. I have learned that what works foo one coily may not work for the next one. Most people swear by the kimmaytube leave in, I had to add more ingredients to meet my hair needs.

@Alana. Thanks for stopping by Dear. Yes!! Even the leave in did not work. But if you noticed , some of the ingredients I use are from her original recipe. So I just had to add a bit more to meet my hair needs.

  4. This sounds like a nice mix, I'm learning so much from your blog. I think we have similar hair type. Too bad I can't easily find good products where I live. But there's always the internet :D

  5. Hey! So, I am going to have to try this out. I am having problems with my hair being dry and I have been trying Kimmaytubes leave in and it works pretty well. But your recipe might give it some When I try it I will have to let you know how it works out. Take care lady!!!! Thanks for referring me to your blog!!!

I will love to hear from you
